The medical marijuana market in Arkansas has reached a record $254 million in total sales this year, according to an article in Arkansas Business.
For comparison, the market recorded $175 million in sales for 2020. Nearly 80,000 Arkansans have active patient cards, the article reports.
Arkansas has had $486 million in total sales of medical marijuana since the first dispensary opened in mid-2019, according to the Little Rock publication.
The article says those sales have generated $54 million in sales tax revenue.
The state currently has 37 dispensaries. In November of 2021, three area dispensaries reported a total amount of almost 220 pounds in medical cannabis sold to patients.
According to Arkansas Business:
- Spring River Dispensary in Hardy recorded 74.63 pounds sold in November.
- Enlightened Cannabis for People in Heber Springs recorded 40.87 pounds sold in November.
- Fiddler’s Green in Mountain View recorded 102.60 pounds sold in November.
