Obituary: Stephen Wayne “Boo” Clark

Stephen Wayne “Boo” Clark of Weiner, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 63. He was born February 25, 1958, in Newport, the son of Acel Floyd, Sr., and Gwendolyn (Anschultz) Clark,

He was a 1976 graduate of Weiner High School and received certification as a diesel mechanic from VoTech. On May 26, 1977, He was wed to Miss Vicky Brown, and together they enjoyed 44 years.

He retired from farming in 2000; and became a Woodmen of the World Insurance agent. He enjoyed selling insurance, as he loved visiting with people.

He had many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing men’s softball. He also dedicated time to coaching youth basketball and softball. The greatest joy for this sharp-witted, funny, loving man was time spent with his family, especially his two grandchildren.

He was a Mason, and a member of Fisher Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Acel Floyd Clark, Jr.; two sisters, Sandra Sitzer and Joyce Ann Clark; his brother-in-law, Billy Sitzer; one niece, Mindy Lee Walker; two nephews, Barrett John Sitzer and Asa Jackson Walker; and his father-in-law, GW Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vicky (Brown) Clark of the home; one daughter, Megan Clark Beard and husband, Patrick of Weiner; two grandchildren, Madden Taylor Brown and Brooks Eli Beard; two sisters, Patricia Nelson and husband, Jerry of Searcy, and Winnie Walker of Quitman; his mother-in-law, Betty Brown of Fisher; his best friend, Lewis Houge; many nieces, nephews, in-laws; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday 12:30 until service. Funeral services will follow at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday. Interment will be at Clark Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Dean Guthrie, Lewis Houge, Gary Easter, Mike Anschultz, Keith Bise, Tony Sullins, William Tate, Blake Anschultz. Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Anschultz, C.W. Ramsey, Ken McCarty, Brian Teague, Short Garner, Brian Mack, Phil Watkins, Reed Westerman, and Waldenburg Farmer’s Supply Employees.
