Ada Oma Lee Mitchell of Batesville, AR, passed from this life at the age of 84 on Thursday, January 13, 2022. She was born in Cave City, AR, on October 5, 1937, to Walter Daughrity and Mavis Haney Daughrity-Burns.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1950. Oma Lee loved her family and had many hobbies, including fashion, cooking, gardening, and shopping. One of her greatest accomplishments was owning and operating her own women’s clothing store, The Batesville Boutique, which she ran successfully from 1984 until 1999. Oma Lee was a hard worker. Before owning her store, she worked at Harris Style Shop and Maxfield furniture store in the ’60s, sold cosmetics at Crosby’s Drug Store from 1970 to 1973, and worked at Gencorp Rubber from 1974 to 1984 until she opened Batesville Boutique. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, and friend whose memory will live on in the hearts of those that loved her.
She is survived by her son, Danny J. Mitchell; granddaughter, Heather Mitchell-Kelley; great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Kelley and Ethan Alexander Kelley; sister, Shirley Moore; brother, Harmon Daughrity; and half-sister, Betty Glass. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. W. Mitchell; half-sister, Barbara Burns; and son, Randy Joe Mitchell.
A visitation will be held at Willis Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Cody Moore, will follow the visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Ray, Roy Cartwright, Art Cutshall, Denver Huskey, Phil Jeffery, and Rickie Sharp.
