Obituary: Hilda Lorelei Altom Warren

Hilda Lorelei Altom Warren, 89, of Floral, Arkansas passed away on February 2, 2022.

Lorelei was born on August 30, 1932, in rural Floral to Lee Roy and Mary Jane (Anderson) Altom.

Lorelei graduated from Floral Public Schools at the age of 15 as valedictorian. She attended Arkansas College, came home and began teaching 3rd and 4th grades at the age of 16. She was a beloved teacher. She finished her Bachelors of Art in Education from The University of Arkansas (GO HOGS!) at 19. She married the love of her life in her family home on her 20th birthday. They have been happily married for 69 years.

She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her life was dedicated to her family. Her hobbies included her family and friends, art, painting pictures on canvas and rocks, decorating cakes, sewing for herself and her daughter, and making quilts. She has made special quilts for all of her children and grandchildren as well as a memory quilt for every family reunion for over 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Eugene “Gene” Warren of the home; two sons, Don Warren (Thao) of Arlington, Texas, and Steven Warren (Heather) of Salem, Utah; one daughter, Natalie Warren-Dees (Dennis) of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Margarett Henley (Wayne) of Batesville, Arkansas, and Marilyn Louise Petree (Wayne) of Cedar Hill, Texas; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be private.
