Helen Louise McGee of Swifton, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, February 4, 2022, in her home at the age of 82. She was born January 2, 1940, in Swifton, the daughter of F.O. “Buzz” and Mae (Hardin) McGee.
She was a graduate of Swifton High School and earned a Master’s in Education from Arkansas State College. She was a retired school teacher, having taught 7-12th grade English and Business at Grubbs and Bradford High School. She was an avid reader, who loved her cats and enjoyed staying connected with her former students, friends, and family.
She was a dedicated member of the Swifton Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James C. and Orville “Buddy” McGee.
She is survived by her niece, who was also her sister and closest friend, Susie Combs of Diaz; one nephew, Dale McGee of Tuckerman; one great-nephew, Aaron Combs of Springdale; one great-niece, Brooke McGee; special friend, Kathy Roberts; many former students whose lives she touched; and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Swifton Church of Christ with Jon Binkley officiating. Interment will follow at Swifton Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church Friday, 12:30 until service.
