Obituary: Jimmy S. Pierce

Jimmy S. Pierce, 77, of Marion (formerly Newport) passed from this life on Thursday, February 3, 2022, in West Memphis, Arkansas due to complications of Agent Orange exposure in the Vietnam War and then getting exposed to and testing positive for Covid while in rehab/nursing home.  He was of the Pentecostal belief.

He was a retired welder who began his career at Delta Trailer Company in Newport in 1975 and retired from Great Dane Trailers in Memphis, Tennessee thirty years later.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Florene Pierce; his sister, Linda Feemster; his nephew, Kenny Feemster and his mother-in-law, Irene Rogers.

He is survived by his wife, V.J. (Jeanie) Pierce of 46 years; his daughter, Tammie Ragsdale Simpson (James); his son, Donny Pierce (Valerie); grandchildren, John McCullough (Summer), Jeana McCullough (Andy), Jason McCullough (Samantha), Shelly Pierce, Rorie Pierce, Matt Pierce; Six great-grandkids, Brooks Bennett, Greyson McCullough, Adalyn McCullough, Beckham McCullough, Anna Davis and Caden Davis; Three nephews, several cousins and friends as well as one sister-in-law, Joan Asher.

There will be no service due to him being cremated so he will always be in his home with his family.  Prayers will be appreciated!
