Jerry Oland Blackburn of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born September 10, 1941, the son of Oscar Oland and Frances Headley Blackburn.
He was a graduate of Tuckerman High School. He was a maintenance engineer at Harris Hospital, a job he greatly enjoyed and was dedicated to. He was a Master Electrician and loved to work on anything electrical. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and walking his dog, Vixen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Raymond Blackburn; and two sisters, Naomi Josephine (Jo) Svochak and Grace Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Minnie Pearl Blackburn of the home; one son, Phillip Blackburn; three daughters, Lagena Tidwell, Mary McCarren, and Melissa Macioch; three brothers, Alvis Blackburn and wife, Annetta, James Blackburn and wife, Phyllis, and Charles Blackburn and wife, Jeanie; two sisters, Janice Blackburn and Mary McGonigal and husband, Don; seven grandchildren, Selina Wright and Ryan, Adam Dalton and Lissa, Jack Dalton, Kaitlyn Hayes and Devon, Brett Castelo, Lisa Goza, and Devon Macioch; and four great-grandchildren, Chloe Wright, Leah Hayes, Olivia Hayes, and Ava Dalton.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Gracelawn Cemetery.
