A Newark man led Independence County deputies on a high-speed chase through parts of southern Independence County last Wednesday night, Feb. 9.
Authorities, who were looking for the individual, spotted him driving a pickup truck south across the White River bridge. According to the incident report, Deputy Chris Stump along with Deputy Jeremy Spohn began pursuit at a high rate of speed at the top of Ramsey Mountain after the subject, identified as Ian Mathew Fuller, 22, failed to stop at the signal light.
The chase continued along Highway 167 south to Oak Grove Road. From there the chase continued on McGough Road, Camp Tahkodah Road, Newport Road, McHue Road, Pepsi Cola Road, Allen Chapel Road, and Edgar Road where Fuller stopped his vehicle and gave up his effort to flee.
Stump said as many as nine citations may be issued to Fuller as a result of the fleeing incident.
