Ancil A. Candler, 87 of Batesville passed away Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born July 14, 1934, in Williamsburg, Kentucky to Claude C. and Hattie G. Sorrel Candler. He was a retired factory worker and pastor. He was a devout Christian and pastored several churches in the area. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Marie West Candler; three brothers, Chuck, Albert and Jim Candler; three sisters, Rhoda Hyde, Mildred Owens and Louise Hyde Bray; one grandson, Nathaniel Barnett and three great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Toby Candler (Hope), Lee Candler, Sanford Candler (Marietta) and Mark Candler all of Batesville; four daughters, Teresa Barnett (William), Amber Goodman (David) and Alisa Hatfield all of Batesville and Sheba Cunningham (Troy) of North Carolina; one sister, Cora Mae Wood of Tennessee; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Caleb Harris and Bro. Kenny Tharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Batesville.
Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Billy Barnett, Blake Canard, Shane Goodman, Josiah Cunningham, Allan Candler and Jason Candler.
