Dora Esta Cargill, 90, of Batesville, AR, passed away on February 18, 2022. She was born on July 18, 1931, to Bearl Moses Harmon and Irma (Welder) Harmon.
She was a life-long member of Harrison Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed jokes and loved to laugh and was a beautiful and hard-working woman. Esta enjoyed camping, reading, ceramic crafting, and was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s (BPW) Club. She loved being around people, especially her family. Esta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and cherished friend who will be missed deeply.
She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Billy Cargill; sons, Steve Cargill and wife Judy, and Phillip Cargill; daughter, Brenda Fleetwood and husband Karrel, all of Batesville; brother, Robert Harmon of Cherokee Village, AR; sister, Thelma Wyatt of Batesville; six grandchildren, Matt and Jon Fleetwood and Jesse Cargill of Batesville, Ashley Garner of Little Rock, and Megan and Andrew Cargill of Van Buren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Johnny Harmon.
Her family gives special thanks to Legacy Hospice and to caregivers Tori Noblitt, Emily Joslin, Courtney Fleetwood, Tyler Cox, Erica Trammel, Christy Saylor, and Megan.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 2 PM with Steve Smith officiating and arrangements handled by Willis Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed in Esta’s memory to Children’s Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR., 72450-3319 or made online at childrenshomes.org.
