Citizens Bank has announced the promotion of Jeffrey Freiert to city president in Batesville, the location of the bank’s headquarters.

In this role, Freiert (pictured) will lead the Batesville team and supervise lending functions of the bank’s north central Arkansas locations as he expands his role in community involvement and economic development. Freiert will provide additional management in the Batesville market, supporting regional president Micah Beard and demonstrating the bank’s dedication to this area.

“Jeffrey has been an employee of Citizens Bank for 18 years and has been instrumental in our growth in north central Arkansas,” said Micah Beard, regional president at Citizens Bank. “He embodies our ‘People First’ mission and is a true role model both within the bank and our community.”

Freiert is a lifelong Batesville resident and has played an integral part by spearheading the coordination of PPP loans for local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Batesville is a great place to call home, and I am fortunate to work with an excellent group of bankers,” said Freiert. “Our team works hard every day to help the people and businesses in our community, and I am excited to serve in my new role to assist in this work.”

Freiert received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University and the Barret School of Banking. He is a graduate of Leadership Arkansas Class XIV and has served as a board member with the Old Independence Regional Museum. He is a board member of the White River Health System Foundation and previously served as an elder with First Presbyterian Church of Batesville. Freiert and his wife, Jesse, have two daughters, Lily and Georgie.
