First Community Bank will continue to be the presenting sponsor for the 2022 Pioneer Classic baseball tournament, starting with the 1A – 4A division on March 25 and 26, and the 5A – 7A division on April 1 and 2. The 2022 field will host 17 teams from across the state of Arkansas.
All games during the Pioneer Classic will take place at the Terry Sims Diamond Sports Complex.
“First Community Bank has always been there for us, and we sincerely appreciate them for their steady support,” said Batesville High School Athletic Director Dave King. “Their continued commitment allows us to keep hosting talented young players from around the state each year.”
“Investing in our youth is at the heart of what it means to be a community bank,” said Boris Dover, the bank’s president and chief operating officer. “We see our youth as assets of the entire community in each of the communities that we serve, and we’re excited to continue to give back through this tournament. We believe that through continuing our sponsorship at this level that we are not only showing our support for young athletes around the state, but also investing in future community leaders.”
Each year, the Pioneer Classic draws out-of-town visitors to the Batesville area during the weekend tournament, with many staying in Batesville overnight. The influx of visitors has positively impacted many local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, and other retailers.
Tickets to the tournament will be $5 per day and will be available at the gate.
