Arkansas State Police are investigating the apparent stabbing death of a Holly Grove man.
Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department were called to an apartment in Holly Grove Monday night around 11:30 where they found Cedric Earl Hampton, 54, of Holly Grove dead of an apparent stab wound.
An occupant of the apartment was taken into custody by local authorities and Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division were contacted by the sheriff’s department requesting the state police investigate the death.
State police say Nelson Morrow, 65, who resided at the apartment, was charged Tuesday with manslaughter in connection with the homicide and remains at the Monroe County Jail in Clarendon pending a bond hearing to be scheduled.
