Rhonda Gail Hunt gained her angel wings Tuesday, March 29, 2022, loved and surrounded by her children TeQuila Hunt and James Hunt. She lost a long and tough battle to cancer. She is preceded in death by her father, Darrell Hunt; her mother Odalene Hunt (Laxton); and her brother, James Hawkins Jr. She is survived by her sister, Debra Balser.

Born July 13, 1973, she was a red-headed wild child growing up. She believed that everyone needed a harmless outlet for stress and her outlet was “smoking a joint” and laying out in the sunshine. She loved music. All of it, from Creed to Dolly to ZZ Top. She loved dancing barefoot in the kitchen, yard, and even at the clubs. She also loved to go arrowhead hunting. She was one of the greatest basketball players back in her high school days. She graduated high school and later in life she went to nursing school. She pursued an occupation in the nursing field for the remainder of her career.

Rhonda had an amazing sense of humor, a remarkable laugh, and a smile that could brighten any room. She was known to shock you with some of the things she would say, but it was always in hopes of helping you see a new perspective. She was a hot head at times, but she was always kind, generous, and compassionate, never not saying what was on her mind. She was very independent and loyal to her loved ones despite their quirks and dysfunction. She always worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, when need is, sometimes resented them, always forgave them, and forever loved them.

Rhonda will be desperately missed by all those she left behind. Our hearts are shattered. She was one of a kind and if you got the chance to be loved by her, you were truly blessed.

A Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willis Funeral Service.
