Steve Albert Parnell, 79, of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life Friday, April 8, 2022, at St Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born December 3, 1942, in Newport, Arkansas the son of Seth Albert and Berneva “Tiny” (McDaniel) Parnell.
Steve’s parents preceded him in death, also one brother, Larry Joe Parnell and one sister, Lisa Linett Parnell Lock.
Steve graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1961 and is a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ. He was an avid Roy Rogers fan and traveled many times to meet the Western legend and have his picture made with the king of the cowboys. Steve sang and played guitar, having joined several bands throughout his lifetime. He was very “crafty” he owned a body shop, restoring cars and selling them, also he made toy chests and things for his family. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife, Euguinda (Waters) “Gonda” Parnell of Harrisburg, sons: Stephen Parnell, Brayden Bornhoft, Kamron Bornhoft, and Kolbie Birdsong, daughters: Becky (Bill) Parnell-Godfrey, Candace Parnell, and Christie Birdsong, grandchildren: Lauren Montgomery, Marlie Kinard, Hunter Parnell, Joshua Parnell, Joey Parnell, Jazzlyn Moss, Ebony Parnell, and Jerran Moss, one brother, Johnny (Jeanette) Parnell of Harrisburg, and two sisters: Nancy Ruth Futrell of Vanndale and Judy Ann Cox of Trumann, and several great-grandchildren.
These men will serve as active pallbearers: Pete Gandy, Kolbie Birdsong, Tracey Morrison, Joshua Parnell, Joey Parnell, and Jerran Moss.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M. Funeral Service will follow on Friday in the Chapel on April 15, 2022, at 2:00 P. M. Interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
