The City of Batesville Advertising and Promotions Commission’s Event Grant program exists to reinvest the funds generated from a 3% lodging tax to promote tourism and increase future hotel stays.
At Monday’s A & P Commission meeting, Batesville Advertising and Promotions Commissioner Cathy Drew (right in photos) presented Julie Church (top picture, left) with an Event Grant reimbursement for $1,000 for the Lyon College Women’s Basketball Tournament that resulted in 50 overnight stays.
In the bottom picture, Drew presents Natalie Simpson (left) with Event Grant reimbursements totaling $4,195 for the White River Juniors Volleyball tournaments resulting in 248 overnight stays.
