Officials say a 20-year-old Rison, Ark., woman was killed when a tree fell on her home as severe storms swept through the state. According to the Associated Press, her death occurred Wednesday as part of a multi-day severe weather outbreak that caused tornadoes, powerful winds, and huge hail in parts of the central and southern United States.

Region 8 News reported emergency crews were called to the 300 block of East Sixth Street in Rison around 4:45 p.m. yesterday for a tree on a mobile home. When crews arrived, they found the female pinned under the tree. Crews attempted to rescue the woman, but she died at the scene.
