UPDATED, April, 18, 9:15 p.m.: A new photo (above) of the Chevrolet sedan that authorities say was driven by the suspects in the Friday afternoon robbery at Citizens Bank has been released by the Batesville Police Department.

Employees of the bank were in the process of filling the bank’s outside ATM machine at its main branch around 1:15 p.m. Friday when two men grabbed the three boxes of cash and fled in a dark Chevrolet sedan.

Although the suspects were not armed, Batesville Police Chief Alan Cockrill described the threatening nature of the robbery as a “strong-armed” robbery.

The chief said a short time after the robbery, a vehicle matching the description of the Chevrolet was pursued by deputies from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department. During the pursuit, Cockrill said the suspects turned off on county roads and evaded authorities.

The chief said he has not had a report of anyone seeing the vehicle since Friday afternoon.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of this vehicle, please contact the dispatcher’s office at (870) 698-2436.
