Betty Jeanne (Kelley) Johnson, 87, of Floral, AR died on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Betty was born July 15, 1934, in Stamps, AR, to the late Liston Clay Kelley and Myrtle Adene (Martin) Kelley.
She was of Christian faith and served the Lord faithfully. She loved to attend church, when she was able, and worship the Lord at Banner Faith Full Gospel Church in Banner, AR. Betty would choose to enter the profession of nursing early in her life. Betty earned her nursing certificate after graduating from Little Rock Baptist Nursing School and no doubt played a part in the care of countless lives. Some of Betty’s hobbies include cooking, quilting, and most of all gardening. Betty loved to garden. She was a member of three different gardening clubs and was very proud of the beautiful plants and flowers that she grew and was even certified as a Master Gardener. Her faith, her profession, and her hobbies all exhibit the same qualities: selflessness, patience, nurturing, and love. She leaves these values behind as a legacy not just because of her work or hobbies, but because she passed them on as a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her family was what she loved the most and she will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Betty is preceded in death by both parents and her ex-husband, Quinntton Johnson. She is survived by her three daughters, Cheryl Shelton, Quinnette Johnson, and Kelly Loy; her sister, Karen Tharp, her three grandchildren, Christopher Shelton (Laura), Jennifer Anderton (James), and Joshua Shelton; her two great-grandsons, Liston Reed and Seven Thomason; her brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson (Peggy), her two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Walker and Kathy Johnson; and several extended family members, with many nieces and nephews and many cousins, and friends.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a visitation on Monday evening, April 25, 2022, from 6 PM – 8 PM at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Floral, AR, at 2 PM.
