A Batesville-based financial institution recently honored some of its associates.

Citizens Bank hosted its second annual People First Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 21.

The banquet honors six Citizens Bank associates for their accomplishments and contributions in 2021, the bank said in a release.

The honorees of the Outstanding Citizens Award included Aaron Herndon, Adillet Lindsey, Jasmine Hilliard, Maria Ryan, Nathan Harris, and Trish Morrow.

The Outstanding Citizens Award is one of the highest forms of recognition received as an associate of Citizens Bank, the release noted. The award is reserved for associates who made significant contributions to their departments in the prior year.

“The People First Awards are meant to honor these associates who consistently go above and beyond at Citizens Bank,” said CEO Adam Mitchell. “Each of these associates is truly exceptional and personifies our mission of putting our customers, communities, and associates first.”

The bank said a senior leader nominated each honoree and winners were determined by a selection committee consisting of executive management and board members. Citizens said the initiative is an integral part of the bank’s mission to put “people first” and is a reflection of the priority placed on culture by its progressive leadership team.

“I am proud of the contributions of each of these honorees who exceed customers’ expectations and those of their colleagues and vendors,” said Jeff Teague, chairman and CEO of Citizens Bancshares. “The board knows we are in good hands with associates like these serving Citizens Bank.”

The release noted:

  • As assistant vice president, retail branch manager, and consumer loan officer, Herndon “…is attentive and thoughtful in every situation, good or bad and whether a customer or peer. It’s apparent he has everyone’s best interest at heart. During the pandemic, Herndon continued to be a positive presence to steady the waters.”
  • Lindsey, vice president and accounting manager, “…lives the People First mission every day and consistently displays a commitment to teamwork, interacting with virtually all departments across the bank. With many years of experience, Lindsey is quick to go above and beyond.”
  • Hilliard, customer service team lead, “…is instrumental in the overall environment of the customer service team atmosphere, using compassion and empathy in her interactions. She is a team player and never shies away from a challenge.”
  • Ryan, vice president and loan operations manager in loan processing, “…leads with positivity and exudes the qualities of the bank’s mission. A longtime associate, she consistently exceeds expectations.”
  • Harris, senior vice president and Fayetteville city president, “…easily embraced his transition to a leadership role and has invested heavily in his team, earning their respect by operating with integrity and honesty. He is customer-focused, treating everyone with respect and delivering the highest level of service.”
  • Morrow, assistant vice president and credit analysis manager, “…is a team player whose positive attitude and willingness to help embodies the People First mission. She embraces difficult loan requests and tight deadlines while answering questions and responding quickly, helping to manage customer expectations.”
