Obituary: James Monroe Duke

James Monroe Duke, 80, of Weiner departed this life on Sunday, May 1, 2022.  He was born on January 16, 1942, to Clarence and Emma (Felton) Duke.

James was of the Baptist belief.  He graduated from Grubbs High School in 1960 and was a farmer all of his life.  He enjoyed being out in nature, hunting, fishing and gardening.  He also was an avid reader and had quite a collection of knives and arrowheads that he had gathered over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Duke and his granddaughter, Amber Cooper.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynn Duke; his son, Braden Duke (Ashleigh) of Little Rock; his daughters, Terri Jenkins (Alan) of Paragould, Leah Bullock (Waylon) of Paragould, Susanne Agee of Lafe; grandchildren, Blake Jenkins (Savanna) of Beebe, Jordan Agee of Paragould, Colby Agee (Patience) of Paragould, Gray James Duke of Little Rock; great-grandson, Dax Halliburton of Paragould and an expected great-granddaughter, Avery Agee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brad Mack, Brian Mack, Kessler Mack, Brian Anschultz, Kip Hesse, and Anthony Rouse.  Honorary pallbearers are Willie Moore, Keith Loyd, Jimmy Mack, Billy Joe Priddy, Corey Trotter and Erin Trotter.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Clark Cemetery with Chase Fowler officiating.
