Dogs of all breeds and sizes will be at Batesville’s Riverside Park Saturday for another edition of “Bark in the Park,” an annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Independence County (HSIC). The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

A variety of fun canine activities is planned, such as a “weenie dog” race, dog games, and a costume contest. Food vendors will be available, and live music from The Sparrows is scheduled for 5 p.m. A movie in the park will wrap up the day.

The entry fee is any type of donation (food, products, treats, or money) to HSIC.

Dogs will need to be leashed at the event.

Megan Trail (pictured), HSIC’s executive director, visited the White River Now family of radio stations this week to talk with Wes Gwaltney about the event.
