Terry Bates, 75 of Cave City passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was born October 3, 1946, at Batesville to Wilson and Iris Blevins Bates. He worked for several years for Coca Cola Company. He loved his family, reading, as well as farming and the outdoors; he also loved to tinker with things.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Darrell Bates; one brother-in-law, Larry Coursey; and his grandson, Ryne Bates.
Survivors include his wife, Suzette Bettis Bates of the home; one son, Eric Bates (Samantha) of Jacksonport, AR.; three brothers, Gary Bates (Patricia) of Eldorado, AR., Larry Bates (Beverly) Poughkeepsie and Keith Bates (Karen) of Poughkeepsie; one sister, Donna Coursey of Cave City; and five grandchildren; Alyssa Bates, Sydney Lowery (Christopher), Suzanna Bates, Elizabeth Dobbs, and Destiny Dobbs; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City. Burial will be at a later date in the Parsley Cemetery near Poughkeepsie.
