
Irma Mae Roddy, 63, of Newport departed this life on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was born in Fitzhugh on November 7, 1958, to Milton Roddy and Beonie Neal Stitt.
Irma was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was always the life of the party and referred to herself as “The Roddy Dog”. She enjoyed singing and dancing, especially to Tina Turner songs. She also enjoyed a good competitive game of Spades.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Milton Roddy Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Roddy of Newport, Martinez Roddy of Grady; her brothers, John Roddy of Nebraska and Darryl Roddy of Nebraska; sisters, Netter Brandon of Newport, Dorthy Roddy of Nebraska, Annette Paley of Nebraska, Tiffiny Roddy of Nebraska; one grandchild, Branshode Williams of Searcy; one great-grandchild, Kashawn Williams of Searcy; a host of nieces and nephews; and good friends, Shirley Brown, Mary Ann Mosby, Lisa Worsham, Ronnie Qualls and Demetria Reed.
Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Quiet Cemetery with elder Lawrence Butler officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Xavier Rucker, Deandre Elston, Leotis Gist, Jlohn Gist, Tremaine Dean and Curtis Gist. Honorary pallbearers are the class of 1977.
