Roy L. Adams, Jr., of Weiner, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the age of 59. He was born June 25, 1962, in Newport, the son of Roy L., Sr., and Anna Mae (Neal) Adams.
He was a 1980 graduate of Grubbs High School. He was a service advisor/mechanic in the auto industry for 40 years, most recently working for Cavanaugh Ford. Over the course of his career, Mr. Adams earned several Automotive Tech certifications and degrees.
On May 23, 1981, Roy Adams, Jr., was wed to Beverly Self, and together they enjoyed 41 years.
He enjoyed gardening, trout line fishing, and working on old vehicles. A kid at heart, Mr. Adams loved doing donuts in anything on wheels. He loved life with his family, whom he provided for and took great care of.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Leland Self.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly (Self) Adams of the home; one son, Joshua Adams and wife, Crystal of Como, Mississippi; one brother, Bobby Adams of Newport; one sister, Julia Ann Crotts and husband, Mike, of Jonesboro; his mother-in-law, Emma Lois Self of Pennington; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Services are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Watson Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Noah Reeves, Paul Caesar, Josiah Williams, Steve Neal, Derek Self, and Rob Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Eric Self, Bobby Self, Mike Crotts, and Ricky Rudd.
