UPDATE, June 21, 2022, 9:15 a.m.: The Arkansas Department of Health has released the “Boil Water” notice issued on June 17, 2022, for the entire system.
A break in the Cushman Water System “main” has led the Arkansas Department of Health to issue a precautionary boil water notice.
The order, issued this morning, was issued because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of a loss in normal system pressure.
Under the order, all affected customers must be advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption and that water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should also be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
The notice will remain in effect until the problem in the main has been corrected, an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system, antibacterial logical survey shows that the water is safe to drink, the order said.
