The man who started drug courts in this part of Arkansas was on hand today in Batesville to make a presentation to the 16th Judicial District Juvenile Drug Courts in Independence and Cleburne counties.
Arkansas Supreme Court Chief Justice John Dan Kemp presented a juvenile drug court certification at the district offices on Main Street.
Chief Justice Kemp (pictured) told the gathering he wanted to come and personally make the presentation. Before he was elected State Supreme Court Chief Justice, he served over 30 years as a circuit judge in the 16th Judicial District. During this time, Chief Justice Kemp started the 16th Judicial District drug courts.
