Matt Boyce (pictured below), founder of UnTapped Tap Company in Little Rock, will lead a tap dance workshop for kids from third grade and up, Saturday, July 16 at the new BCT Performing Arts Center, 1295 Main St., in Batesville, at 1 p.m.
The workshop is for all who might be interested in tap, and in particular, for those who have never before tried tap dance.
Untapped is the state’s first and only nonprofit tap dance company, according to Batesville Community Theatre (BCT). BCT says the mission of UnTapped is “…to educate, engage, and entertain the state of Arkansas with the incredible art form of tap dance.”
Boyce, of New Jersey, has also been a guest artist-in-residence for the dance department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Untapped’s first workshop was held in 2014, and since then, the group has held over 150 workshops across the state.
UnTapped and Batesville’s West Elementary will have tap shoes available, but they are not required to participate. To attend, text (870) 613-3836 or (870) 612 2207.
