Inez Helm, 99, of Batesville passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, in Batesville. She was born April 28, 1923, in Cord, Arkansas to Harvey and Lillian (Jackson) Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Jeanette Foreman, Louise Warnock, Kathryn Clifft; one brother, Arden Foreman; two brothers-in-law, Jack Warnock, Conway Clifft and one granddaughter-in-law, Keisha Helm.
She was raised in Myron and graduated high school in Violet Hill. After high school, she worked as a civilian at a military base in Memphis. After the war, she met and married the love of her life, Don Helm and they were married for 74 years. They lived in Paragould and Jonesboro for several years and moved to Batesville in 1959, where they raised their three sons. She was a teacher for 26 years and worked at Southside High School for 24 years teaching mostly business education courses. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for both young people and adult women. She loved studying the Bible and prayed with two close friends each Tuesday for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 74 years, whom she married on February 20, 1948, Don Helm of the home; three sons, Bruce Helm (Karen) of Little Rock, Sammy Helm (Linda) of Fayetteville, Kenny Helm (Carol) of Batesville; one sister, Sue Brown of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Blake Helm (Susan), Amber Losee (Sloan), Jennifer Foltz (Brad) and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Adam Foltz.
Pallbearers are Blake Helm, Billy Warnock, Keith Warnock, Ricky Clifft, Leland Jackson and Larry Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville with Eddie Cox and Stacey Reed officiating. A committal service will follow at Violet Hill Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
