Bobby Hughes (pictured above, right, with Citizens bank’s Jeffrey Freiert), environmental services/custodian for the Batesville School District, was named Monday to receive the July “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award.”

Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 20-ounce insulated tumbler from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.

In a release from Citizens, the bank said Hughes brings a light that shines upon the staff at the District Administration Center. His fellow associates are thankful for the hard work and diligence that accompanies his smile. They said:

• “Mr. Bobby is a bright ray of sunshine when he greets you in the morning. He is friendly, helpful, and willing to assist us with anything we may need.”

• “Bobby takes pride in a job well done, always has a smile on his face, and makes the office a joyful place to work.”

• “He is a faithful servant who takes his job seriously. The DAC is fortunate to have someone as dedicated as he is.”

• “Mr. Bobby is always happy and willing to help in any way that he can. He always has a big smile and a ‘Good morning’ when we enter the building. What a great way to start the day.”
