The Cleverlys will be performing at Ozarka College on September 10.
The concert will be held in the John E. Miller Education Complex Auditorium in Melbourne and will begin at 7 p.m. It is presented by Townsend Spice and Supply and Grassroots Equipment and Outdoors.
Proceeds will benefit the Earnie Blackley Memorial Scholarship Fund. Blackley, the former Izard County Sheriff, passed away in January 2020 after a battle with cancer.
Remaining funds will support ICARE, an organization that comes to the aid of abandoned and abused animals.
“Losing Earnie was a huge blow to this community, and we felt like hosting a concert in his memory would be the least we could do to honor a life dedicated to law enforcement and public service,” said Shane Lynn, owner of Townsend Spice & Supply. “It is our hope that this fundraiser will endow a scholarship in his name.”
Tickets are on sale for $25 online at thecleverlys.com or please call (870) 291-1937 to purchase tickets.
Originally planned for April 2020, the benefit concert to honor Sheriff Blackley was rescheduled due to the pandemic.
