Marvin Bruce Stendel passed away on August 4, 2022, Mountain View, Arkansas. He was  was born September 8, 1929, in St. Louis Missouri, to the late Bruce Luke Stendel and Florence Rose Myers.

He was the husband of the late Charleen R. Parks and father of the late Stephen C. Stendel, the late Mark B. Stendel, and Joan Stendel Batten of Mountain View, Arkansas.

He is the father-in-law of Lewana Stendel of Sprucehead, Maine, and grandfather of Kyle Batten of Mountain View, Arkansas. Amy Stendel of Rockport, Maine, Angela Stendel of Rockland, Maine, and Ben Stendel of Sprucehead, Maine. Brian Stendel of St. Louis, Missouri and Courtney Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, and Felicia Collett of St. Louis, Missouri; great grandfather of Karly Robinson of Rockland, Maine, Nathan Coombs of Rockland, Maine, Brenton Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, Ella Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, and Tyler Hebisen of St. Louis, Missouri Brother of the late Shirley Stendel Tagnari. He was an uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.

He was a longtime resident of St. Louis, Dellwood, and Glendale, Missouri, and Mountain View, Arkansas; a 15-year employee of Union Starch/Miles Laboratory; aA  10-year employee of Beck and Corbitt Steel/Lapham Hickey Steel and a 10-year Retired employee of St. Louis Public Works Department.

He was a Hall of Fame Member of the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, 1983; Greater St. Louis Major League Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame, 2005, and Roosevelt High School Hall of Fame, 2017. He was a Philadelphia Eagles Draftee out of the University of Arkansas, and a Professional Baseball Player in the Boston Red Sox organization. He spent fifteen years as a Midwest Area Baseball Scout for Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants.

He held a B.S. Degree in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas, Attended U. of A. on a football scholarship, had expertise in corn processing in the wet milling industry., and four sports Letterman in High School. Baseball and Basketball Team Captain. All-District in Football and Basketball. And Quarterback’s Club Award as a most outstanding linesman, 1946; 30 years in the St. Louis area and surrounding Missouri locations as an athletic official.
