Robert Francis Devlin, 82, passed away on August 17, 2022. He was born in Clinton, Massachusetts, on September 13, 1939, to the late Winfield Abel Devlin and Alice Mae (Freiberger) Devlin.
Robert was a brilliant mind that obtained his Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology. He loved his work, always arriving early and spending his time researching and studying to learn everything he could. There was nothing he wouldn’t or couldn’t do. If he did not know how, he picked up a book and learned. When he wasn’t at work, Robert enjoyed yard work and planting flowers, something he learned from his grandfather at a young age. Robert and his wife were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in their community. He enjoyed being on the water and sailing his sailboat. He loved the water so much that he and his wife lived on a yacht in California for five years. Robert also enjoyed cooking and creating gourmet recipes. Above all else, Robert was full of energy and loved helping others. He was loved by everyone who was blessed to know him.
Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, E.J. Devlin; son, Jim Devlin (Tommi); daughter, Teri Maddox (Jim); brothers, Bill Devlin and Peter Devlin (Rosie); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg Devlin; brothers, Morris Taylor, James Devlin, and Skip Devlin; and sister, Marie Tingley.
