Aritta Faye Tucker, lovingly known as “Candy” flew away September 2, 2022, after a valiant yearlong battle with cancer.
Candy was born September 8, 1961, to James and Opal Hanlin in Newport, AR. She held many jobs throughout her life, but the most recent was the most fulfilling, as it allowed her to work with children at Eagle Mountain School, as everybody’s favorite lunch lady.
She is mom to Windy Constable, Misty Lee and Nodee. She is Nana to Cody Skinner, Hope Lovell, Faith Lee and Brody Black. She is sister to Emmitt, Elwood and Janet Hanlin. She is Aunt Candy to many nieces and nephews.
Candy loved so deeply, that the lines between friend and family did not exist. She claimed many people as her own, such as Don Traub, Wayne Constable and a tightly knit group of girls, closer to her than sisters: Tonya, Shelby, Theresa, Lesa, Candy, Kristy, Tammy and Kelly Jo, who stood by her side until the bittersweet end.
Candy loved the outdoors, everything that grew from the ground to the birds in the sky. You could almost always find her by the water’s edge enjoying time with friends and family, who she loved fiercely and loyally.
She was proceeded in death by her parents James and Opal Hanlin, two sisters Donna Zeller and Francis Hooge and the love of her life, Jerry Bell.
A gathering of loved ones will be held at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service, Tuesday, September 6, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. A graveside service will be held at a date to be announced.
The family would like to acknowledge Alexus, Kristen and Sophia from Caring Hands Hospice, for the dedication and kindness they showed while caring for Candy.
