Scotty Boyd of Tuckerman, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the age of 70. He was born April 12, 1952, in Newport, the son of William Eugene and Celestine (Cantwell) Boyd.
Mr. Boyd was a graduate of Grubbs High School. On August 3, 1973, he and Linda “Polly” Johns were married, and together they enjoyed 49 years.
Mr. Boyd worked as a steel worker for Arkansas Steel Association but especially liked helping farmers all over the county do farm work. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and watching game shows. Mr. Boyd was a huge fan of Razorback basketball and traveling to Tunica.
Most of all, his greatest joy was time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Paulette “Polly” (Johns) Boyd of the home; one son, Bill Boyd and wife, Christy of Tuckerman; one daughter, Robin Boyd Koller and husband, Wrotie of Tuckerman; three grandchildren, Peyton Koller, Carley Boyd, and Dawson Gipson; one brother, Ray Boyd of Newport; one sister, Wilma Logan and husband, Michael of Canton, Mississippi; one uncle, Ivan Mingues of Newport; two aunts, Beth Boyd of Jonesboro, and Jimmie Lou Wells and husband, Arnold of Davison, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, September 9, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Gracelawn Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Greg Cooper, David Penix, Jr., Ivan Mingues, Chris Clark, Michael Logan, Jonathan Boyd, and Clint Brock.
