Ashley Allen Redd of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, September 19, 2022, at the age of 50. He was born October 20, 1971, in Newport.
Ashley was a graduate of Swifton High School and a truck driver for C&B Trucking. Over the years, he had worked for Riceland Foods, JWK Hauling, and on Hunter Farms. On June 4, 2005, Ashley married Miss Adessa Popejoy, and together they enjoyed 17 years.
Ashley enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, and riding ATVs and motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Eugene Redd; his maternal grandparents, Herman and Dora Hunter; his paternal grandmother, Elise Jungers; and his paternal grandfather, Johnny Redd.
Ashley is survived by his wife of 17 years, Adessa (Popejoy) Redd of the home; three daughters, Zipporah Popjoy and Ridge Utley of Walnut Ridge, Emily Redd of Newport, and Lacy White of Newport; his mother, Patricia (Hunter) Scott and stepfather, Charles, of Newport; two sisters, Tammy Long and husband, Joey of Harrisburg, and Charlotte Scott of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Payton Popejoy of Walnut Ridge, Reed Utley of Walnut Ridge, and Bentley White of Newport; his aunt, Linda Walker of Newport; his uncle, David Hunter of Jonesboro; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Dowell’s Chapel Cemetery.
