Carrie Masner Hooper was born on May 2, 1958, to her parents Harold and Billie. Carrie went to her heavenly home on September 16, 2022. She was a Christian and a Navy veteran.
She lived life by her own standards and to hell with what anyone else thought. There was no in-between once you met Carrie – you either loved her or hated her. She loved to listen to music, was an avid reader, and would watch Alex Trebek on Jeopardy every day. She enjoyed going to yard sales with her friend Betty, so much so that they would plot out their stops the night before as to not have to backtrack and waste time. She could hold her own in a bar fight and if you ever saw her cry, you’d better not mistake it for hurt feelings. As tough as she was her entire life, those closest to her have seen the tears of hurt and sorrow. Momma loved deeply and for always, especially her family – even when she wasn’t loved back.
She is survived by her six children, Mike, Lucas and his wife Rebecca, Jessica and her husband Kenny, Ashley and her husband Gary, Saydi and her partner Judson, Maddie, and special son-in-law Delayne McKenney; grandchildren, Gabe, Michael, Ethan, Noah, Sara, Ava, Gracie, Koda, Avery, Eli, Camron, Evelyn, Joannamae, Rosie, and Julia; great-grandchildren, Hazel and Harper; sisters, Vikki and Sherri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended families. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan; brother, Willie; and an infant brother, Steven.
A visitation will be held at Willis Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 5-7 PM.
