William Jefferson Sharp, 74, of Evening Shade died Saturday, September 17, 2022. He was born November 25, 1947, to Spellman Sharp and Maudie Edwards Sharp. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Evening Shade, where he served faithfully. He was a dedicated father, brother, uncle, and “Paw Paw.” A decorated Army veteran, he was the recipient of several medals, including a purple heart and a bronze star, which he received for his service in Vietnam. He had a genuine heart for people and was an exceptional storyteller.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kaleb Jefferson Sharp; four brothers, Laddie Sharp, Lloyd Sharp, Dale Sharp, and Roy Neil Sharp; and one sister, Joyce Sharp Fudge.
He is survived by two sons, Wesley Sharp of Elkins, Adam Sharp and wife Angela of Conway; one daughter, Haley Stout and husband Matthew of Greenbrier; two brothers, Dwight Sharp and wife Annette of Evening Shade, and Donald Sharp and wife Bobbi of Ash Flat; two sisters, Frances Lane and husband Mike of Farmington, Missouri, and Marilyn Batterton and husband Dean of Franklin; nine grandchildren, William Sharp, Bailey Sharp, Colton Sharp, Caleb Sharp, Ethan Sharp, Jolene Stout, Elam Stout, Zane Austin and Luke Austin; four great-grandchildren, Arabelle Sharp, Drake Sharp, Scarlette Sharp and Everly Sharp; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Evening Shade with Larry Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery of Evening Shade.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Sharp, Richard Sharp, Jason Sharp, Bob Steel, Tim Sharp, and Matthew Sharp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Batterton, Mike Lane, Van Johns, and Harold Smart.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City.
