An Izard County woman is looking at three felony charges after authorities allege she attempted to run over her home healthcare aide.

According to information filed Monday in Izard County Circuit Court, Tammy G. Boyce, 61, of Melbourne also allegedly told her aide’s employer that she struck the aide’s vehicle with her own vehicle. Boyce is also accused of telling the employer that she would strike the aide “in the head with a hammer.”

The aide told an Izard County Sheriff’s Deputy that Boyce was “visibly upset” when the aide approached Boyce’s residence on Oct. 7 to perform her job, saying the suspect was calling the aide names and demanding the aide leave the property.

The aide said Boyce then got into her vehicle to leave, but then reversed it into the side of the aide’s vehicle — causing damage to the door, according to the court information. Boyce then allegedly swerved her vehicle toward the aide who said she had to leap out of the roadway to avoid being hit, the court documents noted.

The aide told authorities that after Boyce sped away, she contacted 911 and her employer about the incident. Leaving the residence to meet a sheriff’s deputy, the aide reported seeing Boyce’s vehicle again. The victim had to drive into the ditch after alleging Boyce moved and accelerated into the victim’s travel lane in an attempt to hit the aide’s car head-on, according to the affidavit.

The sheriff’s department was later notified by the healthcare agency that Boyce had called to state she did not want the aide to come to her residence anymore. Boyce allegedly the agency that she struck the aide’s vehicle with her own and that if the aide was still at her residence, she would strike the aide in the head with a hammer, according to Boyce’s arrest affidavit.

Tammy G. Boyce is being held on a bond of $10,000 in the Izard County Detention Facility. She is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and one felony count of terroristic threatening.
