Judith DeVore Schoenewald, 79, of Hilly Village, Arkansas passed away on October 17, 2022, in Batesville, Arkansas.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 10th, 1943 to Charles DeVore and Betty Luman DeVore.
Judith was a warm, loving, bighearted lady who spent many of the great years of her life living in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was an avid quilter and loved doing the things that we all think of as a Homesteader’s way of life. She loved teaching others to preserve, home can, quilt and most of all…cook! Her last act on this earth was baking cookies.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Gutierrez D.O. of San Antonio, Texas and Maret Valencia (Tony) of Sabinal, Texas; six grandchildren, Steven Valencia (Chelsea), Lorenzo Valencia, Leann DeLaRosa (Bryan), Ashley Vernon (John), Marian White (Eric), and Angelina Gutierrez; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; and niece, Melissa Deathridge of Grinnell, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Schoenewald; and son, Alec D’Storm.
A memorial service will begin at 6:30 pm Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Cowboy Church with Glenn McKay officiating.
