Jimmy V. Pruett peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on October 22 2022 at the age of 87. He was born in Cord, Arkansas March 15, 1935, to W.C. and Ruth Parr Pruett. Jim spent his childhood years in the Cord area working at the family sawmill playing baseball in the summers and basketball in high school. Jim graduated from Cord High School in 1952. Following graduation, he attended business college in Memphis, TN. Jim had a strong work ethic. He spent his life working as a businessman and built a career working in sales and marketing. After retirement, he could always be found puttering in his shop or in the yard.
He was a dedicated Christian. His first love was his Heavenly Father. He was always ready to share his love of the Lord with others; whether it be a sermon preached from a pulpit, teaching a Sunday school class, or talking to his family on a Saturday afternoon.
He was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather to his family. He greeted everyone with a “Smile, Jesus loves you!” and would always leave you with a joke and a smile.
He loved and was loved deeply. He will be greatly missed. He was the youngest of 5 children who all preceded him in death; one sister, Iantha Anderson; three brothers, Virgil, Pat and Don Pruett.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life for 65 years, Virginia Young Pruett of the home; his “favorite son,” Eddie Pruett (Tami) of Batesville; his “favorite daughter,” Karla
Giacinti (David) of Fort Smith. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
