Lisa Annette Griffin, 45, of Ward, was dismissed from her confinement in a wheelchair, complete dependency on others, and use of a dialysis machine and was received into Heaven on November 1, 2022, at her home. She was born November 18, 1976, in Jonesboro to Shelby Jean (Lucas) Vanoven and the late James (Jim) Lavon Vanoven Jr.
Lisa was kind, smart, and very funny. She enjoyed life. Lisa was always thinking of others. She was loving, compassionate, and fair. You never had to wonder where you stood with Lisa. If she loved you, you knew it. She was a member of Highway Baptist Church in Judsonia, Arkansas and she loved her church and she loved the Lord. Despite her disability, Lisa remained cheerful and was always encouraging to those around her. She sent cards and letters to those who needed an encouraging word. Lisa spent so much time and effort trying to find the absolutely perfect gift for her family and friends. She would often hoard things just for the opportunity to gift them to someone later on. She was special and will be missed.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Blake Griffin; mother, Shelby Jean Vanoven; sister, Kassy Whitener (Rick); a brother, James L. Vanoven III; three nieces, Andee Whitener, Charlee Whitener, and Whitney Vanoven; a nephew, Wiley Whitener; mother-in-law, Mollie Griffin; two very special fur-babies, Cookie, and Chewy; and a host of other family, friends, and other loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Lavon Vanoven Jr.; maternal grandparents, Clifton Lucas and Shirley Lucas; paternal grandparents, James L. Vanoven Sr and Katherine Boatman Lucas; a brother-in-law, Brent Griffin; and an uncle, Clay Vanoven.
