The National Weather Service in Little Rock reports the unseasonably warm temperatures in the area should continue through Thursday, but a cold front entering the state tonight will bring a drop on the thermometer by the weekend.

Friday’s high in this region of the state is forecast in the mid-50s, and by Saturday, the weather service says temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 40s for daytime highs through next week. Sunday’s overnight low is expected to be in the mid-20s.

The cold front will enter northwestern Arkansas and track southeastward across Arkansas throughout the day on Friday.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible Friday morning across northwestern Arkansas and will make a run toward central Arkansas by midday tomorrow, according to the weather service.
