Willine Person, 73, of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born February 3, 1949, to Willie Watkins Jr. and Violet (McTye) Watkins.
Willine was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She loved going to church, singing and fishing, but above everything else she loved raising children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Derrick Person; her parents, her brothers, Tyrell Watkins and Jerry Watkins; her sisters, Deborah Sue West and Violine Watkins.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Dixon-Bey (Juan) of Newport, Patricia Watkins of Newport and Katina Jefferson (Lanell) of Maumelle; her sister, Dorothy Mae Robinson (Freddy) of Newport; sisters-in-law, Robyn Watkins of Newport, and Gail Walker of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Gail Brown (Marcus), Laquida Mattin (Jimmy), Derrick Watkins, Darrion Watkins, Charles Crite, Darius Harris (Elena), Shondrell Watkins, Qualeel Jefferson, Lanell Jefferson Jr., Princess Jefferson, Quaren Childress; great-grandchildren, Jay Crite, William Mattin V, Janya Brown, Semaj Nevels, Dreshon Armstrong, Rayah Watkins, Ceaser Harris, Jeremiah Harris, Angel Harris, Kyzier Watkins; great-great-grandchildren, Layla Crite and Kynlee Crite.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Dillinger Funeral Home with Reverend Ira Crite officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
