Verita Joyce (Pruett) Darmstaedter of Monroe, Louisiana, formerly of Batesville, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, November 28, 2022, at the age of 80. She was born January 22, 1942, in Boydsville, Arkansas, the daughter of John H. and Gertrue (Shannon) Pruett.
Mrs. Darmstaedter was retired from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, where she had worked as a secretary. She was a longtime member of the Magness Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Darmstaedter was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James “Jim” Darmstaedter; her sister, Judy Bolton; and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, James Gregory Darmstaedter of Florida, Jerry Lee Darmstaedter of North Carolina, and John Alexander Darmstaedter of Sterlington, Louisiana; one daughter, Penny LaRaye Dickey of Batesville, Arkansas; one brother, Tom Pruett; brother-in-law, James and Judy Darmstaedter; sister-in-law, Cindy Laab; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Blue Springs Cemetery, with Bro. David Burgess officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are John Darmstaedter II, Darrien Cook, Connor Cook, Donald Barker, Travis Stuart, and Jack Darmstaedter.
