Obituary: Lawrence Andrew Carter “Larry”

Lawrence Andrew Carter “Larry”, 68 of Mountain View, Arkansas was promoted to his Heavenly home on December 14, 2022, at home with his family at his side. He was born February 22, 1954, in Batesville, Arkansas to Herbert Carter, Sr. and Rosalyn McIntire Carter. He was a Christian and a devoted member of the Herpel Missionary Baptist Church. On February 25, 1972, he married his beloved wife Peggy Ann (Condrey) Carter. To this union was born two children, Peggy Sue (Susie) Carter Richardson (husband Shelby) and Jimmy Dwayne Carter (wife Justine); four grandchildren, Justin Lawrence, Ryan Carter, Emily Carter, and Shelby Joe Richardson. Larry loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, grilling food for his family and having large meals with his family. He worked as a small engine mechanic most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Carter, Sr. and Rosalyn McIntire Carter, his loving wife Peggy Ann Carter, one brother, Herbert Carter, Jr.; one grandson, Robert Tanner Lawrence; his in-laws, Rue and Lou Condrey; three brothers-in-law, Bobby Condrey, Jerry Fletcher, and Glen Schneider.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, two sisters; Sylvia Fletcher and Rose Schneider both of Mountain View, Arkansas; one brother, Ralph Carter (wife Joy) of Ohio; one sister-in-law, Pat Carter of Tacoma, Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Larry is Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Graveside services are Monday, December 19, 2022, at Herpel Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas with Brothers Anthony Shipman and Junior Barham.

Pallbearers are Ryan Carter, Justin Lawrence, J.L. Brewer, Vernon Marsolf, Kenny Hudson, and Stuart Gearhart. Honorary pallbearers are Emily Carter, Shelby Joe Richardson, and many dear friends.
