Rosie Lea (Haywood) Head, 88, of Floral, AR, entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Rosie was born in Kahoka, AR, on July 24, 1934, to the late William Arthur Haywood and Ida (Roberts) Haywood. She was of Christian faith and served the Lord Jesus Christ by the way she lived her life and also as a member at Pleasant Plains Church of Christ in Pleasant Plains, AR. Rosie’s faith was evident by the way she lived to serve, love, and care for all of those she came into contact with. Rosie had many hobbies. She loved to cook. She was famous for her chicken and dumplings, cornbread, and baking cakes and pies to satisfy her sweet tooth and nourish the appetite of her family. She loved to garden and raise flowers, write poetry and short stories, play cards (especially “Joker” and “Skip-Bo”), and enjoyed her time serving as a “Foster Grandparent” for Midland Elementary School. But, out of all her hobbies, the one thing she enjoyed the most was being a devoted, Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Rosie helped her husband, Jerry Dale Head, work and maintain their farm as she raised and provided for their family. She was an imaginative and creative mother and grandmother, always taking interest in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and taking time to do the “little things”. It’s because of this deep involvement and affection that Rosie’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts and minds, and the stories, of those that were blessed to know and love her. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Rosie is reunited in Heaven with both of her parents; her husband of 45 years, Jerry Dale Head; her sister, Blanche Shepard, of Wichita, KS; and her brother, Calvin Haywood (US Army retired) of Wilburn, AR. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Head, of Mountain View, AR; her daughter, Kathy Laraine Taylor, of Batesville, AR; her sister, Agnes Miller, of Evansville, WI; her three grandchildren, Melanie Reeves (Waylon), of Judsonia, AR, Mandy Saling (Ryan), of Benton, AR, and Christopher Taylor (Erica), of Cabot, AR; her 5 great-grandchildren, Conley Reeves, Brody Reeves, Landrum Reeves, Kaylee Saling, and Caleb Saling; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Willis Funeral Service’s Chapel from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mrs. Head’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Willis Funeral Service at 10 a.m. followed by a procession to interment at Egner Cemetery in Southside (Salado), AR.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are, Mark Biram, Brian Sexton, Therrel Davidson, Beau Davidson, Nathan Evans, Jimmy Green, Zack Harbor, and Gary Haines.
