Obituary: Richard Wilson Branscum

Richard Wilson Branscum, 90, of Salado, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, in Batesville.  He was born on April 17, 1932, in Rosie, Arkansas to Elbert and Nettie Branscum.  He was a heating and air specialist, auto mechanic, and stone mason was also worked for Southside water utility.  He was also a member of the Salado Baptist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crocheting and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Twyliah Jane Branscum; a daughter, Deborah Jean Acklin; three brothers, Edward, Clarence, Bo and Billy Branscum; a sister, Irene Lucy; a grandson, Timothy Ray Blaxton and a Great-Great Grandchild, Aiden Cage Hubbard.

Survivors include a daughter, Nettie Janie Blaxton (Gerald); a son-in-law, Dale Acklin; a brother, Finis Branscum; a sister, Dorothy Ferguson; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Skyler Mitchell, Austin Thompson, Tylor Thompson, William Branscum, Chuck Branscum and Jadyn Ballard.

Honorary pallbearers are Brandon, Dillion and Carson
