Carl Eugene Phillips, 86, of Corning departed this life on January 17, 2023. He was born August 5, 1936, to Grover Carl and Rebecca (Howlett) Phillips.
Carl was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He also loved being outdoors hunting and fishing. He liked squirrel hunting the best. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His best days were those spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Rebecca Phillips and his brother, Jimmy Phillips.
He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Carl Phillips (Cindy) of Newport, Carl Don Phillips (Amy) of Glencoe and Michael Eugene Phillips (Beth) of Jonesboro; his daughter, Jamie Lynn Staib (Mark) of Jonesboro; his sister, Sharon Manatt (Scott) of Pocahontas; his grandchildren, John, Justin, Tara, Jaydin, Robert, Katie, Ava, Grant, Amelia, Gage, and Nelle; and six great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are; Jimmy Phillips, Carl Phillips and Mike Phillips.
Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with Anthony Patterson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time. The interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
