Two arrests have been made in the 2022 murder of a Fulton County Sheriff’s Department employee.
According to the Region 8 Newsdesk, Fulton County Sheriff Jacob Smith confirmed on Tuesday the arrests of two men in connection with the July 2022 death of Kristy Taylor, 57.
Smith said investigators arrested Taylor’s husband, Harvey John Taylor, 49, Monday night at a Fulton County home. According to court information, Kristy Taylor filed for divorce from her husband in June of 2022. A judge also issued a restraining order for both parties at that time.
Smith told Region 8 News Harvey John Taylor was initially booked into the Fulton County Jail, but because Kristy Taylor had worked for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Smith said he was moved to the Baxter County Jail.
Smith said Thomas G. Sanchez was also arrested in connection with Kristy Taylor’s murder. Sanchez was apparently arrested by U.S. Marshals in Texas, where he is awaiting extradition.
Both men would be charged with first-degree murder, and a $1 million bond has been set for each, Smith told Region 8 News.
Kristy Marie Taylor was found dead in the driveway of her home southwest of Salem just before 6 p.m. on July 9, 2022.
